so Harry Redknapp, dumbfounded upon joining Spurs that the club had spent £30m or so on two strikers, Pavlyuchenko and Bent who can't seem to play alongside each other, responds in his first transfer window by spending about £30m on two strikers we KNOW can't work alongside each other clap

Defoe is most likely out for a long time and when he come back we have 2 decent big man/little man partnerships in defoe/pav and keane/bent (or keane/pav and defoe/bent). I'm much more concerned about his backwards 4-5-1 tactic away from home, its like watching a slow painful death, maybe this signing will end that horrorshow.

15m is at least 5m too much for a soon to be 29 year old who hasn't exactly set the world alight this season.

edit: bbc say it is 12m initially, so it depend on what the add ons (3m?) are. If it is based on goals scored it is a little bit more acceptable. Still a bit too much imo.

When are Carrick and Jol coming back?

Yeah was rumoured to be 15 all day so, To be honest we got an ok price for someone we quite clearly didn't want and I would say probably didn't need in the first place.

Good old wenger

on the disallowed goal (correct decision, eboue pushed woody in the back) which happend far far away from him:

"The goal we scored is completely normal, how can you cancel a goal like that?" the Frenchman told BBC Sport.

On the sending off (correct again) which happend right in front of him:

"What he did was clumsy but the first yellow card was very hard. The second one, I haven't seen.

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko says he is struggling with certain aspects of life in Britain following his move from Spartak Moscow. The 27-year-old Russian has expressed his dislike for British food, women, referees and television commentators.

I've just noticed Hudd's armband. Is he captain or has his baker died?

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is keen to be a future England boss. He said: "I would love to be England manager one day. I am 61 and once my job is done (at Spurs) I would have time left to be England manager."

Seems like a modest and fair request.

it was his 'last job in football' when he took it, just like the Southampton and (2nd) Portsmouth jobs were, and just like he now says he wants the England job to be
